Explore Barcelona on a captivating walking tour through its most iconic streets and hidden corners.
Escape the city and discover the cultural and natural richness of Montserrat on this half-day small group tour from Barcelona. Travelling in air-conditioned private transport, we’ll enjoy scenic views on the way to this iconic mountain and monastery — one of Catalonia’s great symbols.
With our early access entry, you’ll explore Montserrat Abbey and Basilica before the crowds arrive, including a close-up view of the famous Black Madonna (La Moreneta). Your official, passionate guide will bring the history of this pilgrimage site to life during a 45-minute guided tour.
Afterwards, enjoy two hours of free time to make Montserrat your own — visit the museum, taste the monks’ homemade liquor, hike to the Saint Miguel Cross, or ride the Sant Joan Funicular for panoramic views. We’ll return to central Barcelona by early afternoon, having experienced one of the region’s most breathtaking destinations.
Estación de Francia – Our tour begins at the historic Estación de Francia, Barcelona’s grand railway station known for its elegant iron and glass architecture
Rising high above the Catalan countryside, Montserrat is a striking mountain range and one of Spain’s most important pilgrimage sites. Home to the Benedictine monastery and the revered Black Madonna (La Moreneta), it blends breathtaking natural beauty with deep spiritual significance, offering panoramic views, rich history, and a serene atmosphere.
Housed within Montserrat’s Basilica, the 12th-century Black Madonna is one of Catalonia’s most treasured religious icons. Believed to have miraculous powers, this Romanesque wooden statue attracts pilgrims from around the world, who come to admire its beauty and pay their respects.
Founded in the 11th century, the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria de Montserrat is the spiritual heart of the mountain. Surrounded by dramatic rock formations, it’s a place of worship, history, and music, home to one of Europe’s oldest boys’ choirs and the revered Black Madonna.
